Ingredients
King fish-(any big fish of your choice)5 pieces marinated for an hour with turmeric chilly powder pepper lemon juice and salt
For the gravy
Shallots-6 chopped
Garlic-3 chopped
Ginger-small piece chopped
Tomato-1 big chopped
Green chilly-2 sliced
Curry leaves
Make a paste of
Turmeric-1/2tsp
Chilly powder-2tsp
Coriander powder-3tsp
Water-1tsp
Fish masala-1tsp
For wrapping
Banana leaf cut to five squares and threads
Method
Shallow fry the marinated fish pieces in coconut oil.Dont fry them crisp.Keep aside and in the same oil saute shallots add ginger saute add the masala paste you have prepared and saute add tomatoes and cook in a tablespoon of water add fish masala and required salt.Once the tomato is cooked switch off and place some gravy on leaf fries fish on it and a little more gravy on fish and cover the leaf and tie qith thread.Likewise make leaf wraps keeping gravy and fish inside.Now you can either steam them in idly cooker for five to seven minutes or flip and heat on tawa.
Your mouth watering Meen pollichathu is ready… Serve hot
