Karuna Sharma Becomes the First Nepali Christian Woman to Earn a Doctorate in Theological Studies

Oxford, UK: In a landmark achievement for the Nepali Christian community, Karuna Sharma has earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theological Studies.

She completed her doctoral research through the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies (OCMS) in the United Kingdom. The institution is academically affiliated with Middlesex University, London.

With this accomplishment, Karuna Sharma has become the first Nepali Christian woman to earn a PhD in Theology, marking a significant milestone for both the Nepali Christian community and the field of theological education.

Karuna Sharma is married to Ashish Cyrilbhai Christian. They have two sons, Ashriel and Adriel. Her parents are Rev. Dr. Bal Krishna Sharma and Sanumaya Sharma.
