Article: Are you a reason for the Creator’s grief?

Aksa T. Karottu

The Lord was grieved… and his heart was filled with pain (Gen 6:6), you read that correct!! Out of all the creations God made, He blessed and beloved human being the most (Gen 1:26-30). In Genesis 2, we read of God’s forethoughtfulness for Adam, but later in the next chapter we read Adam’s transgression of the commandment, thus triggers sin and curse. The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time (Gen 6:5) which became the reason for the Lord’s grief.

Paul says since they did not think it worth-while to retain the knowledge of God….they have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, depravity, envy, murder, strife, slanderers, God-haters the list goes on(Rom 1: 28-32) . The newspapers today, the media and everything around us are loaded up with stuffs that never fail to give us heartache every moment on this earth.
The root cause is the lack of knowledge of God. Reading the Scripture is the onset to this process, when you have the word in your daily walk, a steady prayer life then you are sure to mirror Him.

Let’s not be the reasons for our maker’s grief instead let’s try and be the ones who find favor of the Lord. In this wicked generation let’s allow the life of Christ to be manifested in our moral flesh, abiding in His word and aspiring one another – cause they say ‘You must BE the change you wish to see in this world’.
