A Transformative Sunday School Workshop led by TransLe Ministries International

On May 17, 2025, TransLe Ministries International hosted a deeply enriching virtual workshop for Sunday School teachers around the theme, “Rooted in the Word, Renewed in Purpose.” Conducted on the Zoom platform, the session brought together participants from across the globe—uniting pastors, educators, children’s ministry leaders, and volunteers who share a passion for nurturing the spiritual growth of the next generation.

The centrepiece of the event was the keynote address by Rev. Dr. Jaison Thomas is a distinguished theologian, educator, and pastoral mentor. His talk centred on Jesus’ model of teaching, offering a thought-provoking exploration of how the church can reshape its Sunday School practices to become more transformational, purposeful, and spiritually formative.

Dr. Thomas spoke with clarity and conviction, drawing from Scripture and contemporary educational theory to illustrate the urgent need for Sunday School teaching to move beyond information delivery. He challenged the attendees to embrace methods that are reflective, interactive, and transformative, creating environments where children don’t merely learn about God but encounter Him personally. “Sunday School,” he emphasized, “is not just a platform to transmit biblical facts—it is a sacred space for forming disciples of Christ from the earliest stages of life.”

Following the keynote session, Rev. Dr. Thomas Philip delivered powerful concluding remarks that echoed and expanded upon the workshop’s key themes. He highlighted the increasing challenge of ministering to today’s digital-native generation—Generation Alpha, born from 2010 onward—and the upcoming Generation Beta, beginning in 2025. These children are growing up in a technology-saturated world, influenced by artificial intelligence, social media, and digital entertainment from an early age.

The worship session was a joyful part of the event, led by Christaphy, Christy, Lisa, and Bro. Manu Puthuppally. Abin Ligin managed the technical aspects of the session with excellence, supported by Remi Mathew, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees. The closing prayer was led by Pr. Benny John, followed by the benediction pronounced by Pr. C.P. Mathew. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Pr. Shibu Varghese, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all speakers, volunteers, and attendees for making the event a success.

The upcoming session will dive deeper into the apologetic approach to biblical teaching—equipping teachers to help children understand and defend their faith. It will also provide practical guidance on how to take baby steps in presenting biblical truths in ways that are meaningful, engaging, and age-appropriate.
With such timely topics and dedicated leadership, TransLe Ministries International continues to inspire, equip, and transform the Sunday School ministry landscape—ensuring that children around the world are not only rooted in God’s Word but also renewed in their purpose as followers of Christ.
