Church of God Gulf Advisory Council Constituted (GCCOG)

Cleveland, USA:As part of the continued expansion of the Church of God’s ministerial and organizational endeavors in the Gulf Region, the Advisory Council for the Gulf Countries has been formally constituted.

The Council is chaired by Dr. Sushil Mathew, Regional Superintendent; Dr. K. O. Mathew serves as Vice-Chairman; and Rev. Gladson Varghese has been appointed as Secretary. The Council’s distinguished members include Dr. Suju John, Rev. Rajan Samuel, and Rev. Kunjumon Varghese.

Since assuming charge of the Gulf Region, Dr. Sushil Mathew has initiated a series of transformative and strategic developments that have significantly strengthened the ecclesiastical and administrative framework of the Church. One of the most historic undertakings is the forthcoming GCCOG Conference 2026, scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman, from March 19 to 21, 2026, uniting the Church of God congregations across the Gulf for the first time in history.

Across the region, new congregations continue to emerge, while several independent fellowships are being integrated into the Church of God family. These dynamic advancements mark a season of spiritual growth, organizational unity, and remarkable progress in the Gulf’s missionary landscape.

In conjunction with the Advisory Council, a Regional Leadership Council, comprising National Overseers and appointed representatives, has also been established to strengthen inter-national coordination. Furthermore, under the able leadership of Sister Gracy Mathew, the Women’s Ministry has commenced active operations at the regional level, fostering holistic ministry involvement.

National Councils and departmental ministries within various Gulf nations are functioning with exemplary coordination and vision, positioning the Middle Eastern Church of God ministries as a vibrant and influential force within the global mission of the Church.
Until the positions of National Overseers for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are reappointed, the church activities in these countries will function under the direct supervision of Dr. Sushil Mathew, the Regional Supdt. of the Gulf Countries in the Middle East.
