Article: Still Praying, Still Waiting… | Finny Raju Houston

English Article

There are moments in life when prayer feels like it is going nowhere. You kneel down, you cry out, you speak from the deepest part of your heart… but all you hear in return is silence. No sign. No answer. No visible change. And slowly, a question begins to rise within you: “God, are You even listening?”

This is a place many believers find themselves in, even though few openly talk about it. It is not a lack of faith—but a season of testing. Because the truth is, silence can be one of the hardest responses to endure. When prayers are answered quickly, faith feels easy. When doors open, when miracles happen, when things fall into place—we rejoice. But when nothing changes, when days turn into months, and months into years, the silence becomes heavy.

Yet, God’s silence does not mean His absence. Just because He is quiet does not mean He is not working. Often, in the silence, God is doing His deepest work—not around us, but within us. He is shaping our character, strengthening our endurance, and teaching us to trust Him beyond what we can see.

There are things God accomplishes in silence that cannot be achieved in noise. Sometimes He is preparing you for something greater than what you are asking. Sometimes He is protecting you from what you do not understand. Sometimes He is simply asking you to trust Him without needing an explanation.

Silence is not rejection. It is not abandonment. It is not the end of your story. It is a hidden season—a sacred space where God draws you closer, even when you feel far from Him. Even when you feel unheard, heaven is not closed.Every prayer you whisper is still reaching Him.

Every tear you shed is still seen by Him. Every moment of waiting is still known by Him. And at the right time—His time—He will respond. Maybe not in the way you expected. Maybe not in the timing you desired. But always in a way that is perfect for your life.

So don’t stop praying. Even when it feels like nothing is happening. Even when your heart feels tired. Even when silence surrounds you. Because faith is not proven when answers come quickly— faith is proven when you continue to trust God in the silence.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Even in silence, He is near.
