Just a Little Longer | San Mathew, CANADA

When Hagar was sent away by Sarah, she felt lost in the world and cried out, feeling it was all going to be over. But the story takes a sudden turn when she finds that God, who sees everything, saw her and her son. He arrived at the scene with a promise and a new way. The Psalmist reminds us that God is our very present help and our refuge in times of trouble. If we diligently seek Him, His hand never fails, and He strengthens the faint, making them soar like eagles.

We have all heard people say, or we might have even said to ourselves, ‘I can’t take this anymore.’ It’s absolutely human to arrive at that conclusion when our targets seem to be moving away and we feel like the promises made to us are not happening, or will never happen. This leads to losing patience and trust in the process and in God’s plan for us.

The apostle Paul encourages us to have confidence in Him, to live in faith, and to persevere, as this has a great reward. ‘In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.’ Let’s not shrink back in faith and lose His pleasure in us, but endure a little while longer.

So, when the next time this thought arrives, ‘I can’t take this anymore’, can we not bring it captive with the knowledge that there is a God who sees everything and will help us in due time? This gives us hope to persevere and endure a little longer.
