POEM: ARISE AND BEAR WITNESS | NIMMY PHILIP MATHEW

Oh, my eyes! Do you see the man on the cross?
His head pierced with a crown of thorns,
His body draped with a robe of scarlet,
Are the visions of your eyes for Him, our Jesus Christ?
Oh, my mouth! Do you hear the cries from His mouth, “Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani”?
The words from His mouth that raised the dead,
The spit from His mouth that healed the blind,
Are the words of your mouth for Him, our Jesus Christ?

Oh, my hands! Do you see His nail-pierced hands?
His hands that fed five thousand,
His hands that turned water to wine,
Are the works of your hands for Him, our Jesus Christ?

Oh, my feet! Do you see His nail-pierced feet?
His feet that walked on water,
His feet washed with tears of Mary, a sinner,
Are the walks of your life for Him, our Jesus Christ?

Oh, my heart and soul! Do you yet remain still and silent?
It is time to arise and bear witness,
Do not waste time, its precious,
Are you ready to proclaim our Christ to the world?
