Poem: To En-gedi | Br. Jeffry Kochikuzhyil
Travel to En-gedi,
Near the City of Salt.
The shore of the Dead Sea
Bringing life to a halt.
Surrounded by wilderness,
Stronghold for a king.
A refuge in David’s quest
From gifts enemies bring.
Fortress for life,
Abounds in strife.
Brushing with death,
From every threat.
Soldier and animal:
Indistinguishable.
Unlikely pillar,
A vineyard dares exist here.
Henna blossoms for
The Philosopher’s lover.
Take me there
Where sweet henna grows.
Grow old where
Life blooms like a rose
