Article:ETERNAL LIFE | Gladys Biju George

Greetings to all in the precious name of lord and savior Jesus Christ.

The main purpose behind coming of Jesus Christ in this earth was to save the mankind from the depths of sin and that we may inherit the glory which was lost due to the sin. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. In John 6 we see the miracle done by Jesus i.e filled more than 5000 people only by 5 loaves and 2 fish. Thereafter the people decided to make Jesus their king but he departed from there. The same crowd went searching for Jesus not because they saw signs but because they ate and were filled. Further we see that the people mentions about the history when their fathers ate manna in desert but they were unaware of everlasting life. The main theme of Jesus teaching was focused on 2 main points: 1. I am the bread of life 2. He who believes in me has everlasting life. Since they did not had a clear revelation and understanding about Jesus they started murmuring and quarrelling. Even many of his disciples said,“ This is a hard saying who can understand it?” From that time many of his disciples went back and walked with him no more. In regard to that Jesus asks his 12 disciples “Do you also want to go away?”. Immediately the response of Peter is amazing. “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Eventually we see Peter wrote 2 well known epistles through which God enabled him to strengthen and remind the pilgrims and also the church about everlasting life and second coming of Jesus. In today’s  generation also we see a lot of people who just come in God’s presence only for a material or worldly blessing and miracles. Their understanding about Jesus is only limited to that. But God wants that we should first seek the kingdom of God. Let Almighty God help us to prepare for eternal life and also to prepare many who are perishing in sins. Jesus Christ is coming soon. Be ready for his coming. God bless all.
