Article:God of restoration | Dr Achsah Koshy

The term restoration simply means repair, fixing or the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. God is able to fix all problems in our lives. Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.(Psalms 71:20)

The verse that inspired me the most is “the Lord remembered her”(1  Samuel 1:19).The first book of Samuel Chapter One explains about the birth of Great Prophet Samuel. The name “Samuel” means “Name of God or God has heard”. The birth of Samuel was a miracle. Hannah, his mother was a barren women. The Lord had closed her womb. In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. She pleaded God to remember her and restore her happiness. Right time God made it happen. God restored her peace of mind and Joy. God gave her a fertile womb and she gave birth to the well known prophet in bible “Samuel”. When God remember , he will restore our lost fortunes. It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.(Romans 9:16)

The holy Lamb Jesus Christ came to this world to restore us back to the communion with God. What the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has done is to restore us back to that original communion we had with God before we sinned. Through the crucification  of Jesus Christ, we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—(Colossians 1:15-22)

I may not know what has gone missing in your life, but  all knowing God know what you need. Our mighty God is able to take care of our  each and everything.  The very hairs of our  head are all numbered by our God. God cares for you much more than you care about yourself. God always hears genuine prayers. “to the One who remembered us in our low estate His love endures forever”(Psalms 136:23). We pray as we know best, and God answers as he knows best. Cling to God, He is a God of restoration indeed!
